My work can be described as natural, elemental, organic, moving. My approach comes from a deep respect for allowing what IS happening to be that which I celebrate in a cake’s final expression.

The techniques I’ve developed over the years were born out of responsiveness to my environment and the limitations and possibilities of my materials.

The design process, similarly, is informed by where you and I overlap, a response to the development of my craft along with your story and our shared sensitivities.

When you peruse my portfolio, I invite you to look for the cakes where you can see yourself. Those are the parts of MYself that I will draw on when I create for you, such that your cake will be an authentic expression of you, through my hand.

As an artist, the cornerstone of my work is focused around the ‘natural process’. I consider this to be essential for nurturing inspiration—we’ll form a rough plan during the design consultation, but allow the details to emerge in the moments when I’m actually creating your cake—an improvisation.
